2019 Wedding Trends
27 January 2019
With a new year With a new year comes a whole host of new trends set to take the wedding season by storm! With every aspect of the wedding getting fresh ideas, it can be hard to keep up with this years latest trends, so we've put together some of our favourite 2019 ideas. We are particularly excited about the wedding trends coming up in 2019 as there is a big focus on making the day even more personal to the couple. At least, that's what the majority of the industry's most lauded wedding planners are telling us. And we trust their instincts, and we think you should, too. If their predictions are spot-on, 2019 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting weddings seasons to date.
Eco-conscious and Ethical Weddings
- It was an important factor at Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding, and it’s going to be an equally important factor going forward for couples in 2019. From foam-free flower installations to wedding dresses that use ethical practices and wedding cakes made of locally sourced ingredients, the options for hosting an eco-conscious and ethical wedding are rising.
Illustrated Invitations
With wedding invitations being one of the few forms of mail we receive these days (or at the very least, the most exciting!), guests are making the most of their wedding stationery by commissioning hand-illustrated designs.
Bridesmen and Groomswomen
This year we saw more and more couples employ their nearest and dearest, regardless of gender, to join them in celebrating their big day. Bridesmen, groomsgirls, flower grandmas (instead of flower girls), and best women; the traditional wedding roles are now seen more as a guide than a rule. Read more about the rise of the bridesman.
Grazing tables
Doing away with waiters serving traditional canapés, grazing tables (usually featuring cheese, meats and fruits), are presented like a work of art, ensuring your guests never go hungry and your Instagramwill never be without likes.
Women Making Speeches
Mums, bridesmaids, brides and sisters, we loved seeing more women on the mic last year and hope it's something we'll see even more of in 2019. Why should men get to make all the wedding speeches?
Statement Wedding Cakes
We've seen a lot of amazing wedding cakes, but 2019 will welcome even more impressive creations. 2018's royal weddings are likely to inspire couples to make more opulent choices. Metallic touches, personalised monograms and regal piping will be on everyone's cake agenda. Even more exciting are the amazing array of textures we're expecting - rippled icing, decorative finishes and show-stopping sugar flowers will take guests' breath away. It's all about bespoke – let the your imagination soar and the magic begin.
